My last post I talked about not letting your circumstances define you and how I overcame my struggles. In this post, I want to provide you with the steps you can take to overcome the circumstances that is holding you back in life.
• Change who you spend time with. Are you hanging out with people who are a bunch of “no hopers” (I just made that word up) or spending time with people who have no ambition? If so, explore the option of building new friendships. You want to remove the negative people from your life.
• Find and listen to motivational materials on YouTube, or podcasts to help you change your mindset and begin applying what you’ve learned into your daily life.
• Look for a mentor. This person is someone who you admire or someone that has experienced a similar situation like yours. Find out how they overcame these struggles.
• Change your perspective on the past. Learn from those events and consider how they can strengthen you as a person. It’s ok to make mistakes, but it’s not ok to not learn from them.
• Optimism is key. People who are optimistic usually are more committed to their goals and are more satisfied with life, compared to pessimistic people. If you think positively and know that you will overcome this struggle, you will be more willing to put in time and energy to make that come about. “When life delivers lemons, optimists are more likely to make lemonade”.
Your biggest circumstances can turn into your most glorious victories. Those life lessons are valuable, and you must embrace them with an open heart and mind. I know it might sound crazy, but you have to understand that certain things in life cannot be avoided. Turn your negative experience into a positive one.
